In late 1989, after realizing that the Beta format was dying, I went and purchased
a Sony SLV-70HF, which may have been the best consumer VHS deck ever made.
Picture and sound quality on everything I recorded improved dramatically.

This is LIVING COLOUR on an MTV New Years Eve live broadcast, performing in the
early AM hours of Jan. 1, 1990. My recollection is that they had the band start a
tad bit before the end of the commercial break, so there's a few opening notes
missing from "Middleman". There's about a second of the end of the commercial at
the beginning. While there are lots of official MTV videos out there, this doesn't
appear to be one of them. Enjoy!
