Our Family

We stayed at the AmericInn in Silver City, MI.  It's the same place we stayed in 1994, though back then it a Best Western.

Sista Otis and her crew were a stark contrast from the typical folk fare, but they were entertaining.

On Saturday we visited the Lake of the Clouds.  It was on a hike to this location that we were tormented by biting flies in 1994.  There are plenty of flies around this time too, but they're not biting.

We're spending the weekend in Silver City/Ontanogan/Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and enjoying the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival.

Friday night's headliner was Ember Swift. Lisa thought she was very entertaining but Jonathan could get past the impression that she is a Ani DiFranco impersonator.  He doesn't really care for Ani either.

Grandma and Grandpa Moore left this afternoon to head back to NC.  They had stopped here for a few days on their way back from visiting Eli Sullivan. Lisa also left to go down state for John Gresham's wedding.  The boys stayed home.  We watched a little pre-season football, spent some of dad's birthday money on a new set of wireless head phones at Best Buy, ate dinner at the food court in the mall, bought mom a new bike tire inner tube at Target, tried out our new WiFi service (FreedomLink) from the parking lot of Barnes & Noble, and watched "Aloha, Scooby-Doo" for movie night.
